Interview with Eddie

The Fool: Hello to everyone again as we head into our third interview of the series. Today we have the amazing Eddie the manager of Edster’s Dreamteam, who finished second behind Dewtastic despite collecting 95 more game week points over the season to have the most game week points. However he had the eighth worst points against record in the league.
Anyway, it is good to have you here in the studio Eddie, i hope things are well.
Eddie: Thanks for having me, yes everything is going quite well.
The Fool: That is good to hear, so can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Eddie: I am dutch in origin and lived in NZ for ages. Now in my middle years I look forward to loads of spare time without rushing all over the place.
The Fool: That sounds exciting! So, exactly how long are your walks on the beach?
Eddie:The one over the weekend was 5 minutes. Having three teenage girls along complaining about the wind limited the enjoyment somewhat.
The Fool: I can only imagine that 3 teenage girls would make things worse as it is not really something I have had much experience with. So, has the 2nd Annual 9642 Fantasy League changed you in anyway?
Eddie: It has taught me that I should pay more attention.. Top points and finished second?? I waz robbed I tells you!!
The Fool: Well it wasn’t all about collecting points, it was about putting out a side to get more points than the guy you were facing that week. Still you finished second and have the most game week points scored, so you were doing some things right. Can you share some of your winning strategy with us simple plebs?
Eddie: Liverpool and planning for double weeks without paying for additional transfers. Normally a combination of the two.. That and discussing sports at work.
The Fool: Somehow I can’t quite accept the picking Liverpool players as being a winning strategy, but then I finished in 8th so what do I know? Anyway, what do you like to do with your time outside of 9642 Fantasy Football?
Eddie: I like to the play xbox games and play other fantasy sports. Mostly baseball and hockey. The ice variety, not poncy field..
The Fool: If you can’t handle a few sticks and balls to the face it is not my problem. Also, why do you always win Settlers of Catan?
Eddie: As with all things in life experience plays a large part. That and I cheat.
The Fool: I knew it! Cheater!!

I understand you are a Liverpool fan, is Klopp the saviour who was promised?
Eddie: Kopp, Kloop Klop well what ever. A German in charge.. Who would have seen this coming.. Shankly is turning in his grave.. Mind you he is better than most other recent ones!
The Fool: Will Liverpool win anything at all in the next 10 years?
Eddie: In the next 10 years? Sure. They must at least win one game right?? Mind you they are better than Chelsea and that is always something!! Special one my arse.. I look forward to man U crashing and burning in the Championship next year.
The Fool: Come on man, it’s way too soon for that sort of stuff, I mean the break up still hurts and now we have to see him around town with the new team, and one of our bitter rivals at that. He promised that we were the only English club for him…

Anyway, to finish we have some fan questions. A Mr J Rooke asks, If you could be any superhero, who would you be?
Eddie: What you mean? I am a super hero! But I guess I could be quite into wonder woman. Lasso of truth and snazzy tights? Sign me up!
The Fool: Somehow I am not surprised. Lastly a Miss O Barnett asks, What is the best flavour of M&M?
Eddie: The crispy ones obviously.
The Fool: Good choice, if that was a flavour and not a type, so ha! tricked you! Don’t you feel foolish… Ok, so it was NumberNine that pointed out that tasty tasty crispy was a type not a flavour.. Anyway that is all the time we have for today, thanks for joining me Eddie for this chat
Eddie: It was my pleasure, and I look forward to wasting you in the DreamTeam Euro’s picking competition. You are going down little man!
The Fool: That’s what you think, this has a much tighter time frame so I won’t have time to go inactive! Anyway hopefully more people do the same and sign up so we have some good competition in the cup!
Thanks everyone for taking the time out from your day to read this, hopefully we will be back tomorrow with the Melon Farmer to wrap up this series. Until then, this is the Fool saying goodbye.
