So season 3 of the 9642 Fantasy Football League has finished and the winners and losers are known.
First up I would like to congratulate Bluetastic for winning this year, with 75 points, and a 25 wins 13 loss record. Bluetastic had renamed his team, A Stab in the Dark, from last year, and has improved 9 spots from a 10th placed finished last year. What a fantastic effort!
Bluetastic was 9 point ahead of second placed Old Warsonians, who finished on 66 points with 22 wins and 16 losses, and an improvement from last years 4th place. Last years’ winner, Dewtastic, only managed third place this year, also on 66 points, 22 wins and 16 losses, but with a worse points differential, with only +37 compared to Warsonians +108. Fourth place was taken by the returning Brummie Battlers who returned after a season off. The Battlers finished with 64 points with a 21 win, 16 loss, 1 draw record.
Last years’ second place Edster’s Dreamteam, only manager 6th place, whilst El Baconi’s Diablos had the worst fall from grace, finishing 5 places below their 3rd place finish last year to 8th this year. Meanwhile both Number Nine and The Fool fell 3 places to finish 10th and 11th, both below Mr Average and as such worse than the average fantasy player. However, overall the 9642 fantasy managers have done better this year, as Mr Average finished 9th this year, compared to last years 5th.
Also, this year we had three new players, Skivers United who finished the best of the newcomers in 5th, Rambunctious who finished a respectable 7th and this years IC player, Cra8zy4Genesis, who kept up the tradition of being inactive and finishing last. A fun fact is that Rambunctious scored the most goals in the league, 2023, but failed to turn this goal domination into head to head wins.
