Season Nine Fantasy Football Final Standings

I know it has been awhile since it closed, but Season 9 finished with some close results at the top of both the Standard and Draft tables. In the standard fantasy league, Casey Andrew of Boom Xhakalaka took the title despite a loss on the final day, beating second placed Nadir Shahidullah of Birdie Two, by one point. Third place TM of Nearly came homes was 5 points further back, with Ricky Andrew’s Drewtastic one point further back in 4th. 

At the other end of the table, Mr Average managed to beat 3 Managers this year, my own Teh Chelski Fools, Jacob Beullens Fazed Guys and Rafael Costa Villa’a UNDERSTIMATED SQUAD (completing a dismal season for the corporate sponsored ecoPortal team)

Meanwhile in the Fantasy draft competition, Louis of Kiwi United #2 outplayed the pack to win, 3 whole points ahead of second placed Dr. Evil of WanaBissaka Your Mum. Third place went to Nadir’s Babooshka, with fourth place going to  Mukseet’s Abahani FC. At the bottom of the draft league, T with Nearly Came home was unable to replicate his standard league form in the draft league, coming dead last, whilst Hayen, myself and Rickey rounded out the bottom four.

The Manager that did the best over both leagues was Nadir, with a 2nd in the Standard and 3rd in the Draft, with Casey next with his first in the Standard, but only a fifth in the draft. Meanwhile I was the only manager to show up in the bottom four of both competitions, giving me the dubious honour of best of the worst managers (albeit that I scored almost the same points in both leagues).. The biggest difference between the leagues was shown in TM, with a 3rd in the Standard league, but a dismal last in the draft (and by some margin). Hayden also showed that he hadn’t gotten the hang of the draft league, with a 5th in the Standard, but 13th in the Draft.

That wraps up last season, but of course we have a new season starting up! Season Nine leagues have been generated and are now open to join!

The draft will occur live on our discord next weekend. At this point it is likely to be Saturday 30th July at 9pm, but this time and date is TBC. The best thing is to first join the leagues and start getting ready for Season Nine!
